Alana Restaurant

Located in the heart of the old town of Rethymno, in a beautiful garden site where local residents and foreign guests harmoniously coexist, Alana restaurant invites you to enjoy the local quality fresh, grilled or cooked, meat, delicious dishes and mouthwatering desserts from the unique Cretan cuisine.

The restaurant's name comes from the old days. Alana was a place where all the children of the neighborhood would gather to play. It first opened in 1986 in the old town of Rethymnon on Salaminas street, the main street below the castle of Fortezza and it was one of the first taverns in the area. With 200 seats, it was the busiest part of the old town. In 2002, under new management, space turns into a 100-seat restaurant based on high-quality products, attentive service, and good prices.
